Webmail and mailboxes

Explainer

WBAMS can give your organization, clients, members and staff real mailboxes on your domain, and a webmail application to read them.

Where the mail lives

cPanel
WBAMS creates, sizes, re-passwords, suspends and deletes mailboxes through the cPanel API.
Microsoft 365
Mailboxes stay in your tenant; WBAMS signs people in through Microsoft and never sees a Microsoft password.

Who may hold one

The organization's own addresses (billing@, support@) draw on no allowance. A client's allowance is a free baseline plus whatever their active services grant; members and staff get a number per level, overridable on one record.

  • An address can be offered automatically when a record is created, only to people who said yes.
  • Lowering an allowance never deletes mail already held.
  • Webmail answers on its own subdomain, such as webmail.example.org.

Licensed option

Webmail is an option on the WBAMS license; an unlicensed installation hides its menu entries.
