Can I install WBAMS on shared hosting or cPanel? Yes. A Linux hosting account with PHP 8.3 or newer and the free ionCube Loader, a MySQL or MariaDB database, HTTPS and cron is all WBAMS needs, and the installer and cron instructions are written for cPanel.
Does WBAMS work with Nginx? Yes. WBAMS runs on Apache or Nginx. The protective rules it ships are an Apache .htaccess, so on Nginx you write the equivalent refusals in your server configuration.
Do I have to set up a cron job? Yes, one job every five minutes. Without it nothing recurring happens: no invoices on schedule, no reminders, no suspensions, no imported ticket replies.
Can I switch off the parts I do not use? Yes. Members, staff, donations, the knowledgebase, updates, events, galleries and client registration are switches under Setup › Management Levels. A part declined at installation is not installed at all, and switching one off later keeps its records.
Can I change my industry choice after installing? Yes. The industry preset only ticks switches during installation. Every one of them can be changed later under Setup › Management Levels.
Will an update overwrite my changes? Not your settings, uploads, .htaccess or add-ons: an update never touches settings.php, the root .htaccess, storage/, your media uploads, and never removes an add-on. It does replace the theme files it ships, so customize a copy of the theme.
Can an update be rolled back? If an update fails part way, WBAMS puts back every file it had replaced and removes what it added. After a successful update one copy of the replaced files is kept, so they can be put back by hand. Always back up the database before updating.
Which payment providers does WBAMS support? WBAMS ships 20 payment gateways, among them Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net and Helcim, plus offline methods such as bank transfer and mail-in payment.
Does WBAMS do recurring billing? Yes. Services bill on their own cycle, monthly to every few years, with invoices raised ahead of the due date, reminders before and after, and late fees and suspension if you want them.
Can WBAMS charge tax or VAT? Yes. Two levels of tax rules by country and state, inclusive or exclusive pricing, compound tax, VAT number validation for business clients, and your tax number on every invoice.
Can I bill in more than one currency? Yes. Each client has a currency, products are priced per currency, and a price left empty in a currency means the product is not sold in it. Reports convert at the stored rate.
Can the website and portal carry my own brand? Yes. Your logo for light and dark backgrounds, your colors and color scheme, two client themes with light and dark modes, and every page built in the page builder.
Can I build my website without writing code? Yes. Every public page is built in the page builder from 55 section types, with menus, galleries and events, previews for phone and tablet, drafts, scheduling and revisions.
Is there an API? Yes: 136 actions covering clients, orders, services, invoices, quotes, tickets and more, with credentials limited by role and by address. Hooks let your own code react to events.
Can WBAMS send text messages? Yes. Notification rules can text the phone numbers you name, through your own Telnyx or Twilio account, when an event happens, such as a new order or a ticket reply.
Can donors give monthly? Yes. A cause can offer one-time gifts, monthly gifts or both. A monthly gift schedules its own next occurrence and sends a Donation Receipt for each one received.
Does payroll calculate tax? Yes, from the tax tables you enter for each country and region, band by band. WBAMS ships no tables of its own: a country with no table in force is not taxed, and the pay run says so before you approve it.
Who owns the data? You do. WBAMS runs on your own server and keeps your clients, invoices, tickets and pages in your own database.
Is my license tied to a domain? Yes. A license is bound to the hostname of your installation. www.example.org and example.org count as the same hostname.
What happens if the license check cannot reach the license server? Your site keeps working. Normal requests check a signed copy of the license locally; a remote check runs on a seven-day schedule, and if one cannot be completed a grace period applies.
Can my clients use two-factor sign-in? Yes. Client two-factor is its own setting; once you allow it, clients switch it on for their account in the portal.
Which languages does WBAMS come in? English, Spanish and Swedish for the client area, and English and Spanish for the control panel. Pages and menu items can carry a translation for each site language.
Is there a dark mode? Yes. The control panel and both client themes have light and dark modes, and every page-builder section is styled for both.
