Update WBAMS WBAMS updates itself from the control panel, checks every file it downloads, and keeps a copy of what it replaces so a failed update puts things back.
What an update never touches An update replaces the product's own files. It leaves your settings, uploads, rules and add-ons alone.
Updates: your newsroom Updates are your newsroom: news, releases, launches, service status and maintenance notices, each with a template of its own.
Will an update overwrite my changes? Not your settings, uploads, .htaccess or add-ons: an update never touches settings.php, the root .htaccess, storage/, your media uploads, and never removes an add-on. It does replace the theme files it ships, so customize a copy of the theme.
Can an update be rolled back? If an update fails part way, WBAMS puts back every file it had replaced and removes what it added. After a successful update one copy of the replaced files is kept, so they can be put back by hand. Always back up the database before updating.
