How-to

Upload the package, open the installer in a browser and answer six steps. Nothing is written until you press Install on step four.

Before you start

  • An empty database and a database user with all privileges on it, and on nothing else.
  • PHP 8.3 or newer assigned to the domain, with the free ionCube Loader switched on and the extensions in the requirements.
  • HTTPS working on the final address: the license is bound to that hostname.
  • Your license key.
  1. Upload and extract

Put the archive in the document root and extract it there, so index.php, vendor/, themes/ and install/ sit directly in the root. Check it against SHA256SUMS.txt first.

  2. Open the installer

Go to https://your-domain/install/install.php, read the license agreement and accept it.

  3. System check

Only failing checks are listed. Fix them and press Check again.

  4. Shape your workspace

Choose your industry, the people you keep records about, modules and website sections, and whether to start with example content.

  5. Connect the database

Enter the license key and the database details. The database must exist and be empty.

  6. Create the administrator

Pressing Install writes the settings, creates the tables and activates the license. Only then does the administrator form appear.

  7. Finish

Delete the install/ folder, add the cron job the screen shows, and switch on friendly URLs if setup could not.

If the last step fails

Try again brings the administrator form back with everything but the password, and setup finishes what is left rather than starting over. The full error is in install/log/.

There is also a command-line installer: php install/bin/installer.php --install. It installs the default shape (clients, with Donations, Updates, Knowledgebase, Events and Client registration on).
