A database dump alone is not a backup of WBAMS. Keep the whole recovery set together, and test that it restores.
The recovery set
- The database.
- The application files.
settings.phpand the encryption hash.- The root
.htaccess. - Ticket attachments, downloads and private storage.
- Uploaded media, including
assets/media/documents/. - Custom add-ons, theme copies and the cron configuration.
Restoring
- Restore
settings.phpand the encryption hash with the matching database. A mismatched hash makes protected values unreadable. - Restore private file stores before testing customer downloads or ticket attachments.
- If an upgrade stopped on a database error, read the log, fix the cause and run it again: the upgrade scripts are safe to re-run. Restore the backup only if you cannot get past it.
