What the scheduler does every day

Reference

The scheduler runs the time-based work. A healthy website does not prove a healthy scheduler; the dashboard's Last Automation Run does.

Every five minutes

  • Queued email.
  • Ticket escalations and scheduled ticket actions.
  • The mail import, from its own cron job.
  • New-release checks, every eight hours.

Once a day, in the hour you choose

  • Invoices for services and billable items falling due.
  • Reminders before and after the due date, and late fees.
  • Suspension and termination of overdue services, as your rules say.
  • Card captures, membership dues and lapsing, monthly gifts.
  • Currency rates, the database backup and the daily report.

The dashboard's Automation Overview counts what the last run did: invoices created, card captures, overdue suspensions, inactive tickets closed, overdue reminders and cancellations processed.
