Step three of the installer asks about your organization, not your server. Your answers decide which tables are created and what content is written, and every answer can be changed later.
Start from an industry
Six presets tick the switches an industry usually needs. A preset is a shortcut, not a mode: change any switch afterwards and the preset simply stops being highlighted.
| Preset | People | Donations |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Clients and staff | - |
| Agency | Clients and staff | - |
| Church | Members, staff and clients | Yes |
| Nonprofit | Members and staff | Yes |
| Association or club | Members | Yes |
| Freelancer | Clients only | - |
Clients are always installed, because WBAMS bills and billing needs somebody to bill. Every preset also turns on Updates, Knowledgebase, Events and Client registration; none turns on Galleries.
Modules and website sections
Donations is a module: gifts, donor history, receipts and recurring giving. Updates, Knowledgebase, Galleries, Events and Client registration are website sections. A section that is off leaves no page, link or menu entry behind.
Declining something installs none of it
No tables, no menu, no settings page. Turning it on later is one switch under Setup › Management Levels, and its tables are created at that moment. Turning something off never deletes its records.
What the site opens with
Example content gives you a homepage, an About Us page, a Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, header and footer menus, seven updates and twenty-one knowledgebase articles, all editable. Nothing but the homepage is literal, and the harder choice to reverse: content is quick to delete and slow to write.
