Set up a payment gateway

How-to

WBAMS ships 20 payment gateways. Their credentials differ but the setup has the same shape every time, and the step people skip, the callback, decides whether payments are recorded.

  1. Activate it

Settings › Payment Gateways: find the provider and activate it. Fill in the credentials the provider gave you, in test or sandbox mode first.

  2. Name it for customers

Set the display name shown at checkout, and the currencies it accepts if not all of yours.

  3. Register the callback

The provider tells WBAMS a payment succeeded by calling https://your-domain/extensions/processors/callback/GATEWAY.php. Some providers register it for you (Stripe creates its own webhook); most need it pasted into their dashboard.

  4. Pay a test invoice

In a private window, order as a customer and pay with the provider's test card. You should come back to the client area with the invoice paid.

  5. Go live

Switch to live mode, make a small real payment and refund it.

Changing the System URL breaks callbacks

They are registered at the provider against the old address. Moving domain or switching to HTTPS means registering every gateway again.

Offline methods

Bank transfer, check and mail-in payments need no provider. Activate them like any gateway so customers can choose them, and record the money on the invoice with Add payment when it arrives.
