A cause is a donation product in a donation group. Donors pick an amount and how often; you get a ledger, receipts and progress towards a goal.
- Create a donation group
Donations › Donation Groups. A group is a set of giving opportunities, offered one-time, monthly or both.
- Add the cause
A product of type Donation in that group, with a description donors will read and a button label such as Give or Give monthly.
- Set the giving options
Suggested amounts, a minimum gift, a goal with progress shown, a campaign end date, what a gift does (impact lines), a thank-you message and a receipt note.
- Decide what donors may choose
Dedications (in honor or in memory of someone), anonymous gifts, covering the processing fee, and whether recent supporters are listed.
- Give to it yourself
Make a small test gift in a private window, check the receipt, then refund it.
Monthly giving needs the scheduler
A monthly gift raises its next occurrence when the scheduler runs. If the automation is not running, recurring gifts stop advancing.
